The DRIP — Instructor Training · Mid-Class
The jitters don't stop
when class starts.
Every instructor who has ever stood in front of a room felt this. It doesn't mean you're not ready. It means your body is doing exactly what it's built to do — you're just about to teach it where to go.
Nine ways the jitters show up mid-class
None of these mean you're losing the room. They mean adrenaline is still running the show. Once you can name it while it's happening, you can hand control back to yourself.
You don't have to restart. Just notice, and correct.
You don't need to stop class to fix any of this. Each one has a small, specific correction you can make without breaking stride.
Lines for when you catch yourself mid-spike
You don't need all four. Find the one that lands and keep it in your back pocket.
Nobody in this room knows what you meant to say. They only know what you say.
A missed cue is only a missed cue if you stop moving.
They can hear you. You're the one who can't hear yourself clearly right now.
Slower is still teaching.
